Leslie Weiland RN, BS
Leslie Weiland RN, BS graduated from Purdue University School of Nursing and holds a degree in Healthcare Administration. She works with Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care as a Community Educator. She provides a variety of educational courses to physicians, nurses, hospitals and medical professionals on healthcare topics.
Leslie is the founder of The Comedy Connection Smile Team that provides humor stimulation in healthcare settings. This Volunteer team works with Children with Cancer & with several Senior Community settings.
Leslie specializes on topics related to stress management, team building, customer service & leadership. Her workshops have been provided in England, Norway, Sweden, Brazil, and across the United States. She has been published in multiple medical journals & authored Laughter, The Universal Language. Leslie will help energize and inspire participants to their balance their stress levels by adding more laughter each day.
Dr. David Weiland
Dr. David Weiland, MD is Board Certified in Internal Medicine & graduated from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He currently works as a Medical Director with Seasons Hospice & Palliative Care. He was previously the Chief Medical Officer at Largo Medical Center and past President with the Pinellas County Medical Association. He enjoys volunteering with Medical Mission trips while mentoring & inspiring new medical students.
He has received many awards and honors including being recognized by US News and World Report as a Best Doctor. He received the Tampa Bay Metro Magazine Best Doctor Award, was called a Florida Top Physician by Florida Monthly Magazine and is a USF Distinguished Alumni. In January of 2020, Dr. Weiland was a featured speaker at the Arts in Global Medicine Conference at the University of Central Florida.
Dr. Weiland is a popular speaker with the University at Sea & many Clinical Symposiums providing numerous clinical presentations nationally. Frequently request topics include: Updates on Treatments with Dementia & Alzheimer ’s Dis-ease, Critical Communication Techniques in Healthcare, Pain Management in the Age of Diversion & Stress Management to Promote Resiliency to Prevent Compassion Fatigue. Joye Swisher, CRTM
Joye Swisher is a Consultant with Educational Connection. She a Certified Volunteer Manager, a National Caring Clown Instructor, and a Reiki Master Trainer. Currently, Joye is the President the of the World Clown Association #221 Alley. In addition, she is the Educational Director for the Comedy Connection Smile Team which is a 501© (3) organization providing therapeutic humor in hospitals, senior communities, cancer centers & community events.
Joye is a national speaker who has been featured at the World Clown Association Conferences in Denver, NYC & Orlando. She has worked with Dr. Joel Goodman at The Humor Project in New York.
Joye is the Founder of Intentional Threads, LLC, where she helps others “Live with Intention.” As a consultant, Joye is frequently requested for Reiki Education, Wisdom Circles, Journaling, Aromatherapy and the Healing Power of Humor. Joye will inspire participants to discover the JOY of engaging with people of all ages in a variety of settings!
