Any of the following topics can be customized to meet your educational needs. These are descriptions of our most frequently requested educational programs. They can be adapted for small or large audiences with time frames anywhere from 30 minutes to 8 hours.

DESCRIPTION
The “Humor as a Balance to Change and Stress” workshop is designed for participants to learn the therapeutic medical and emotional benefits from humor.  The course illustrates how to reduce personal stress and promote a positive attitude.  During times of change, the use of humor can serve to build rapport, decrease tension, and assist in regaining a broader perspective necessary for problem solving.  This presentation will present examples of humor development techniques and guidelines to effectively use humor to balance conflicts and change.  The goal of this workshop is to add happiness into each individual’s life as well as how to be an inspiration to others working or living around you.

OBJECTIVES
1. To define the physiological benefits from laughter.
2. To identify destructive forms of humor.
3. To gain insights on techniques to build humor.
4. To participate in group activities utilizing humor strategies.
5. To recognize the emotional effects of humor.

Creating a Positive Climate

DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to build self-esteem and positive working relationships.  It deals with perception, values and individuality.  Using non-threatening participative exercises, attendees experience unique approaches to problem-solving.  Techniques you will learn include negotiating skills and how to deal with personality conflicts.  The goal is to improve the attitudes of professionals working in an office environment.

OBJECTIVES
1. To identify 3 techniques to promote positive behaviors.
2. To understand perception and cultural values.
3. To identify ways to resolve interoffice conflicts using negotiation skills.
4. To describe different personality types.
5. To identify team building skills.

Conflict Resolution

DESCRIPTION
Conflict is a given.  Our challenge is to learn to manage the energies via negotiating and talking.  A self assessment activity affords each participant a customized view of the conflict resolving strategies and options.  This course deals with perception, values and individuality.  Using non-threatening participative exercises, attendees experience unique approaches to problem-solving.  Techniques you will learn include negotiating skills and how to deal with personality conflicts.  The goal is to improve the attitudes of professionals working in an office environment.  Participants will design personal action plans toward developing a more positive climate.

OBJECTIVES
1. To understand that differences are inherent.  Our goal is to learn to celebrate our diversity by managing our conflicts wisely.
2. To identify the five conflict resolutions strategies and options for implementation.
3. To experience problem solving activities that illustrate cooperation, teamwork, creativity and enthusiasm.
4. To understand the “affirm/assert” approach to developing self and others.
5. To take responsibility for our own interpersonal communications, actions and behaviors.

Team Building

DESCRIPTION
The focus of this “Team Building” workshop is to learn to fuse individual talents and abilities into the unified goal of the team.  The process of building a winning team centers on clear articulation of common team objectives as well as involved and committed team members.  Participants will learn the basic principles of team work and practical strategies for implementation.  By examining the characteristics of effective teams and the impact of positive coaching, the concept of team spirit will be demonstrated and experienced.

OBJECTIVES
1. To create a motivational work environment that brings out the best in each team member.
2. To explore and understand the human dynamics that lead to team commitment and quality follow through.
3. To develop leaders in coaching and facilitation skills that enable and empower team members to be high performers.

Managing Accelerated Change

DESCRIPTION
Change is our only constant.  We are now living at a time in history when change is more accelerated than ever known before on the planet.  This “Managing Accelerated Change” seminar focuses on positive techniques that will help leaders facilitate and adapt to the demands that this frequency of change creates.  Information age trends and global changes will also be highlighted.  Leaders will learn how to guide their co-workers into effective modes of interaction and creative innovation.  Practical tips for immediate application will allow participants to apply what they have learned.

Executive Presentation Skills

DESCRIPTION
The “Executive Presentation Skills” workshop focuses on the participant’s present strengths in order to build confidence and expertise in public speaking situations.  The success of this training program revolves around the participative approach.  Participants actually put into practice the skills and techniques of effective speaking by doing it.  Participants learn to analyze an audience, to organize and sequence ideas, to utilize forms of support, to deliver the message with impact as well as how to feel enthusiastic and confident before an audience.  The process of creating a presentation that wins trust and respect is a powerful skill that enhances career opportunities and organizational image.  The ability to speak confidently, concisely and persuasively exemplifies quality communication and professionalism.

Motivating Ourselves

DESCRIPTION
Caring is the heart of motivation.  This seminar challenges participants to look within and to care about themselves.  Our program is designed to build self esteem and create positive working relationships.  Humor and laughter will be encouraged.  By seeing and identifying personal strengths and talents, a confidence emerges.  Self motivation techniques allow individuals to reach for their own potential, both on and off the job.

OBJECTIVES
1. To “know thyself” in order to choose techniques of self-motivation that increase self-satisfaction and productivity.
2. To learn that attitude more than age determines energy and enthusiasm.
3. To recognize the benefits of humor as a stress reliever and as a team bonder.

Choices, Challenges and Changes

DESCRIPTION
We make choices from the moment we wake up each day.  How can we determine the best choices?  This course is going to explore ways to make decisions and look at techniques to survive some of life’s challenges.  The only guarantee in life is that we are constantly changing.  The participants of this course will learn strategies for responding, adapting and managing a variety of changes.  We will be looking at ways to turn negative situations into new opportunities!  Be prepared to laugh, relax and look at creative approaches toward choices, challenges and changes.

OBJECTIVES
1. Participants will develop two (2) skills for making decisions in high stress situations.
2. Recognize the difference between distress and eu-stress.
3. Identify four (4) conflict resolution strategies.
4. Learn to view changes as a positive experience, utilizing at least three (3) creative approaches to having fun.

What Did You Say?
Exploring A World of Communication Techniques!

DESCRIPTION
We start to communicate with each other from the moment of birth!  Even before words are spoken, we learn to read facial expressions or understand a tone of voice.  The art of communication is more than speaking words!  This course will illustrate the necessity for clear and accurate communication skills with patients and professionals.  Misunderstood instructions can be extremely costly in both time and/or liability.  Effective communication can promote self-confidence, improve patient education and enhance your professional productivity.  Expand your resources as this program will share various high tech communication techniques.  For instance, spell check could become your best friend!  How did we survive before fax machines, computers or cell phones?  Be prepared to laugh and learn “who” to say “what” to “when!”

OBJECTIVES
1. Identify three (3) types of commonly used communication with patients.
2. Evaluate the process of human communication throughout the various stages of life.
3. Discover barriers to effective communication and ways to improve.
4. Learn the power of a positive attitude and specific interviewing skills.
5. Discuss the importance of computer and satellite technology in our world of communication techniques.

Joy Is In the Journey

DESCRIPTION
“Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, TODAY is a gift, that’s why we call it the “PRESENT.”  This course is designed to build self esteem and positive working relationships.  Learn to break away from negative patterns and learn how to find more JOY in your life.  Your attitude can make the difference in the lives of others.  We will explore decision making skills, problem solving techniques and types of communication.  Define and identify what gives you joy.  You will not want to miss this opportunity to share this exciting learning experience!

OBJECTIVES
1. Identify barriers to the enjoyment of life.
2. Review positive and negative coping mechanisms with stress.

Spirituality in the Workplace

DESCRIPTION
Spirituality has different meanings to each individual.  Understanding the spirituality in the workplace is not limited to a particular religious philosophy.  This facilitated presentation and open discussion forum will allow participants and the speaker to share ideas on how spirituality can be incorporated into the workplace. We will focus on non-judgmental awareness of cultural diversity.  This presentation will look at definitions, spiritual assessment tools and applications to help enhance both personal and professional relationships.  Does our work reflect a sense of purpose?  Spirituality fosters a sense of connectedness with life and can promote a more optimistic view to inspire others to enjoy the journey!

OBJECTIVES
1. Describe spirituality and applications in the workplace.

3. Define the role of providing spiritual care and the future

Laughter, The Survival Frontier

DESCRIPTION
Do you have stress in your life?  Current research has found that laughter can help balance distress and actually boost your immune system!  This course is going to explore ways to laugh and look at your sense of humor to survive some of life’s challenges.  The participants of this course will learn strategies for responding, adapting and managing a variety of changes.  We will be looking at ways to turn negative situations into new opportunities!  Be prepared to laugh, relax and look at creative stress management techniques.

OBJECTIVES
1. Participants will develop two (2) skills for making decisions in high stress situations.
2. Recognize the difference between distress and eu-stress.
3. Identify four (4) methods to encourage laughter in the life cycle.
4. Learn to view changes as a positive experience, utilizing at least three (3) creative approaches to having fun.
